OK/Meggie's story
My name is Meggie, an orange/white Brittany/Beagle close to 30 lbs and around 7 years old.  I am spayed, utd on shots, hw neg and on hw prevention.
Recently NBRAN provided surgery to remove growths in my right ear that were blocking air causing an ear infection. I am still getting care for the ear. This crazy lady keeps cleaning and adding drops in my ear.   While at the vet's office for surgery, I was awarded a purple heart (engraved with my name) for bravery during surgery.  I actually should get a medal for living with a family who has bloodhounds, basset hounds and a cat.  Besides the ear issue I do a funny sneeze due to allergies. The vet thinks it is that time of year.  While doing the laser surgery to remove the growth they did look to see if I might have a growth in my nose causing the sneezing. Dr. Larry didn't find any and my sneezing is less frequent. The rescue also did an x-ray because I was limping on my right foot and found that there was a small chip on the extension process (nothing to be done) and some signs of arthritis.
My house manners are impeccable. Not much of a barker, so I would make a great townhouse or condo dog as well. Plus, I don't really like getting up early in the morning like the hounds here. I do great on a leash and don't mind riding in the car. The only issue I give my foster Mom is when another dog gets to close when I am eating or getting a treat. I give them a polite reminder about my space. So... Mom just puts me in the doggie pen to eat or when treats are being passed around. Food and treats are served in there and don't have to worry about a theft. My current dog food is Chewy's American Journey's dry Chicken and Rice. So, I would be perfect in a home where the other canine respects my space or as an only dog. The dogs here have furniture privileges and I have slept in a chair a couple of times. I really like sleeping close to my Foster Mom.  There are no human kids in the house so not sure how I would react around them but older children who respect dogs might work. I do go get a toy from time to time and toss it around. And I like sleeping on the dog bed next to where my Mom sleeps.
From Foster Mom:  She would make a good only dog or would need a dog that ignores her.  Meggie does like to be a little alpha.  She likes to be your shadow, but not Velcro.
